Amazon does not show an ingredient list for Kugig toothpaste. We found the list published for the 100 g tube and explain each ingredient in simple words, plus what is not in the tube.
Aqua, Calcium Carbonate, Cellulose Gum, Ethyl Menthane Carboxamide, Flavor, Glycerin, Hydrated Silica, Mentholum, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Saccharin, Sorbitol, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Xanthan Gum.
Source: SkinSAFE ingredient record for Kugig Whitening and Staining Toothpaste, 100 g (updated June 2026). There is no fluoride, no peroxide and no hydroxyapatite in this list.
Kugig toothpaste has no active ingredient in the drug sense. Fluoride-free toothpaste is sold as a cosmetic, so there is no Drug Facts panel. Some store listings name sorbitol as the active ingredient, but sorbitol is a moisture and sweetening agent, not a treatment.
Here are all 14 ingredients grouped by the job they do. None of them is unusual. You will find most of them in big-brand toothpastes too.
| Ingredient | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Aqua (water) | Base | Carries the other ingredients and forms the paste. |
| Sorbitol | Humectant and sweetener | Keeps the paste moist and adds a mild sweet taste. It does not feed cavity bacteria the way sugar does. |
| Glycerin | Humectant | Stops the paste from drying out in the tube and gives a smooth feel. |
| Calcium carbonate | Mild abrasive | Gently polishes away surface stains and plaque. |
| Hydrated silica | Mild abrasive and thickener | Polishes teeth and helps give the gel its body. Common in whitening toothpastes. |
| Tetrasodium pyrophosphate (TSPP) | Anti-stain and anti-tartar | Helps stop new stains and tartar from sticking to teeth. |
| Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) | Foaming agent | Makes the foam and helps spread the paste around your mouth. |
| Cellulose gum | Thickener | Gives the paste its texture. |
| Xanthan gum | Thickener | Keeps the gel smooth and stable. |
| Flavor | Flavor | Adds the mild mint taste. |
| Mentholum (menthol) | Cooling agent | Gives the fresh, cool mint feeling. |
| Ethyl menthane carboxamide | Cooling agent | Adds a longer-lasting cool feel without extra mint taste. |
| Sodium saccharin | Sweetener | Makes the paste taste less bitter. |
| Potassium sorbate | Preservative | Stops mold and yeast from growing in the tube. |
The cleaning work comes from two ingredients: calcium carbonate and hydrated silica. They are mild polishers that scrub away plaque and surface stains. Tetrasodium pyrophosphate then helps stop new stains from forming. Everything else is there for texture, taste, foam or shelf life.
This is the biggest question buyers ask, and the answer is not clear-cut.
The Kugig toothpaste hydroxyapatite claim comes from one place: the Sensitive Teeth listing on Amazon is titled "KUGIG Toothpaste with hydroxyapatite". But hydroxyapatite does not appear anywhere in its feature points, its photos or the published ingredient list. Kugig also gives no percentage. Toothpastes built around hydroxyapatite usually state an amount, often 5% to 10%. If hydroxyapatite is the reason you want Kugig, read the ingredient panel on your tube when it arrives.
One Amazon photo lists "Xylitol: reduce sensitivity". Xylitol is not in the published ingredient list either. The sweet taste comes from sorbitol and sodium saccharin.
Yes. Kugig is a fluoride-free toothpaste, and that is one of its main selling points. Many people choose fluoride-free toothpaste out of personal preference.
Keep in mind that fluoride is the ingredient most toothpastes use to help prevent cavities, and the American Dental Association only gives its Seal of Acceptance to fluoride toothpastes. If you or your child get cavities often, ask your dentist whether a fluoride-free paste is right for you.
TSPP is short for tetrasodium pyrophosphate. It is a common ingredient in whitening and tartar-control toothpastes. It binds to the minerals in saliva that harden plaque into tartar, so less tartar builds up. It also helps stop stains from coffee, tea and red wine from sticking to the tooth surface. That is why many shoppers search for "TSPP toothpaste" when they look up Kugig.
TSPP can make some people's teeth feel a little more sensitive. If that happens, brush gently and talk to your dentist.
Yes. Sodium lauryl sulfate is the foaming agent in Kugig, and it explains why buyers mention how foamy it is. SLS is used in most popular toothpastes and is considered safe in these amounts. Some people who get canker sores (mouth ulcers) choose SLS-free toothpaste because they find SLS makes ulcers worse.
Fluoride, peroxide, hydroxyapatite (per the published list), xylitol (per the published list), zinc citrate, potassium nitrate, parabens, dyes, propylene glycol.
Rated 91 out of 100. Listed as free of gluten, parabens, lanolin, coconut, soy, nickel, dyes, propylene glycol and MCI/MI preservatives.
Based on its ingredients, Kugig is a standard, gentle toothpaste for adults. Use a pea-sized amount, spit it out and do not swallow it. Keep it away from young children, and stop using it if your mouth or gums get irritated. To see what real buyers say about taste, whitening and comfort, read our Kugig toothpaste reviews.

Kugig calls the formula vegan and cruelty-free in its product photos. None of the 14 listed ingredients comes from animals. We could not find an outside vegan certification.
No sugar is listed. The sweet taste comes from sorbitol and sodium saccharin, which do not feed the bacteria that cause cavities the way sugar does.
No, and it does not need to be. Fluoride-free toothpaste is a cosmetic in the US, and the FDA does not approve cosmetics before sale. Fluoride toothpastes follow FDA drug rules instead.
Yes. Glycerin is one of the 14 ingredients. It keeps the paste smooth and moist.
No. Zinc citrate is not in the ingredient list we found.
SkinSAFE lists the formula as gluten-free. If you have celiac disease, confirm with the brand, since we could not see an official gluten-free label.
It contains two mild abrasives, calcium carbonate and hydrated silica, which are common in whitening toothpastes. Kugig does not publish an RDA abrasiveness score, so if you have worn enamel or exposed roots, brush gently and ask your dentist.
No. Kugig is peroxide-free, so it removes surface stains by polishing rather than bleaching.
